1. The short version

JihoVault opens a Markdown folder that already belongs to you — in OneDrive, on a WebDAV server, or in a folder on your device or iCloud Drive. We run no servers and receive no data from you. There are no accounts to create with us, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Your notes travel only between your device and the storage you yourself chose.

2. What we do not collect

We do not collect, store, receive, or sell any personal information. JihoVault contains no third-party analytics or advertising code, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. Because the developer operates no back end, there is nowhere for your data to be sent to us.

3. Where your notes live

• Your storage. Notes, folders, and attachments are read from and written to the vault you connected — your OneDrive account, your WebDAV server, or a folder on the device. The content of those files is governed by the privacy terms of that storage provider.
• On the device. To make search fast and to let you read notes offline, JihoVault keeps a copy of the Markdown text and a search index in the app's own private storage on the device. Deleting the app removes that copy.

4. Signing in to OneDrive

If you connect a OneDrive vault, the sign-in happens directly with Microsoft using the standard OAuth 2.0 authorization-code flow with PKCE. Your Microsoft password is never seen or stored by JihoVault. Microsoft returns an access token and a refresh token, and those are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. Signing out from the app's Settings screen deletes them. Microsoft's handling of your account is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

5. WebDAV credentials

If you connect a WebDAV server, the address, user name, and password you enter are used only to talk to that server. The password is kept in the iOS Keychain on your device and is never written to a settings file and never sent anywhere else.

6. Microphone and speech recognition

JihoVault can record a meeting while you take notes. Recording and transcription both run on the device. The audio file is saved into your own vault next to the note, and the transcribed text is written into the note. Neither the audio nor the text is sent to the developer. iOS asks for microphone and speech-recognition permission the first time you record, and you can withdraw either permission in the Settings app at any time.

7. Children

JihoVault is a general-purpose note taking app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children, because we do not collect information from anyone.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the new text is posted on this page with a new date at the top.
